Does China have its own ChatGPT?

In recent years, the development of artificial intelligence (AI) has been rapidly advancing.

One of the most impressive AI tools is ChatGPT, a natural language processing (NLP) tool developed by OpenAI. ChatGPT is a powerful tool that can generate human-like conversations and is used by many businesses to create customer service bots.

Unfortunately, ChatGPT is not available in China. OpenAI has not made the tool available in the country, though it is not blocked. This has left many Chinese developers and businesses in the lurch, as they are unable to use ChatGPT to create customer service bots.

One such developer is Guo, who was looking for a way to create a customer service bot for his business. Unable to use ChatGPT, Guo turned to Taobao, China’s biggest ecommerce site. On Taobao, there are hundreds of thousands of merchants offering a variety of products and services, including the ability to create customer service bots.

While the bots created on Taobao may not be as advanced as those created with ChatGPT, they are still useful for businesses looking to provide customer service. They are able to answer basic questions and provide customer support.

It is unclear when or if OpenAI will make ChatGPT available in China. Until then, Chinese developers and businesses will have to make do with the bots available on Taobao. While they may not be as advanced as ChatGPT, they are still a viable option for providing customer service.
