How many Hz can the human eye see?

Humans have long been fascinated by the limits of their vision, and one of the most common questions asked is how many Hertz (Hz) can the human eye see? The answer is not as straightforward as it may seem.

The human eye is not capable of seeing anything beyond 60Hz. This means that monitors with refresh rates higher than 60Hz, such as 120Hz or 144Hz, are not actually seen by the eye. However, these higher refresh rates do offer advantages to the user.
